Clements Hifi & Music Business Card

Clements Hifi and Music - Boronia was an important music store that existed to serve the music needs of citizens of the outer eastern suburbs of Knox district and in particular Boronia (a suburb in Melbourne, Australia). It started as a strip shop in the late 1960's in Dorset Rd. Boronia before moving to The Mall / Boronia Shoppingtown in 1973 when that opened and operated until the mid 1980's on the upper floor opposite the main entrance.

It was owned and operated by the Clements family (namely father John and his son Peter) and key and core staff were Ron Macpherson who ran the Hifi side of things and Ron Olson who was the tech man out back. Other key people over time were music salesmen Simon Rashleigh and Clive Lane. Clements Hifi and Music (not to be confused with Clements Music in the Melbourne CBD - a different music retailer at the time) sold Recorded Music (LPs & Cassettes), Sheet Music, Musical Instruments, Hifi equipment and Car Stereos.

It was also a 3XY chart store and had an important music bulletin board for local bands looking for new members. At some point in the mid 1980's Clements was sold to another music operator and its name changed to Sight N Sound which continues to operate at the same location.
