CLAUDIO ARRAU
CLASSICAL MUSICIANS - CHILE / USA (AMERICA)
Claudio Arrau (1903 - 1991) was a Chilean / America classical pianist and music educator. He is considered to be one of the greatest classical pianists of the 20th century. He left Chile to study music in Germany when he was 8 (in 1911) under a government grant training under Martin Krause (who himself was a student of Liszt and stayed there until he migrated to the United States in 1942 where he remained and sought out dual Chilean / American citizenship in 1979.
