ABOUT HIM:

Nathan Payne was born in 1973 on the Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Maryland, but was raised in Rockford, Illinois, where he graduated from Jefferson High School in 1991. After studying Music and English at Western Illinois University, he finally earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1997. He released his first solo album, Angels on Fire, in 2001.

Nathan moved to Los Angeles in 2001, and spent several years there writing, performing, and working odd jobs. After spending the summer of 2006 in New York, Nathan traveled to Austin, where he recorded American Infidel, released in February 2007.

After driving a cab for a couple years, Nathan left Austin and wandered aimlessly for awhile. He finally settled in Jerome, Arizona, where he started his band Nathan Payne & The Wild Bores. Nathan founded different chapters of the band throughout the Southwest and West Coast. As a result, each chapter has its own sound and flavor, and is distinct from all the others. Nathan continues to take his music to new and existing audiences across West and Southwest coast of the USA.
