Music Journalist Author Musician

Andrew McMillan (1957 - 2012) was a renowned and highly regarded Australian Music Journalist who wrote for RAM Magazine as well as a number many other music publications. His death was reported on the 1st February 2012 and attracted many music industry tributes, he died of cancer aged 54 in the Northern Territory where he lived out his later years.

In 1986 he won the RAM Music Journalist of the year award and as well as several other non music industry related notable awards as an author and storyteller.

In Australian music books, his story on Midnight Oil's tour in the late 1980's through remote aboriginal communities in the book 'Strict Rules' is considered to be a music industry classic with the Herald Sun proclaiming it as "‘Easily the best rock book Australia has produced. Even though it’s not really about music".
