DESCRIPTION: Gustav Mahler (1860 - 1911) was a Austrian / Czech classical composer and pianist. He was born in the village of Kalischt in Eastern Bohemia which is located today in the Czech Republic. During his life the village of Kalischt was part of the Austrian Empire and Mahler was considered to be Austrian.
