Michael Gudinski was an iconic figure in the Australian Music Industry and a key figure in the Global Concert Touring industry. Michael was best known as the founder of legendary Australian record label Mushroom Records and its related group of record labels (such as Liberation Music & White Label Records). From Michael's success and high profile in creating Mushroom, Michael leveraged his success and market power and diversified his entertainment business interests and created Frontier Touring Company as part of his ever expanding portfolio of entertainment business interests. Today the Mushroom Group of companies is a major force in the Australian Music Industry and Michael was voted as the No.1 ranked figure in the AMID Annual Power 50 report for 2012 on the most powerful people in the Australian music industry.
Sadly, Michael Gudinski passed away suddenly in March 2021, his business empire has been inherited by his son Matt Gudinski.
